The property and casualty insurance industry is a diverse and inclusive community, in which companies require a wide range of skills. Whether you are a high school career studies teacher, a career centre counsellor for post-secondary school students, or an advisor helping someone decide on a career change, we hope you’ll find our Web site, career videos, brochures, and profiles informative. You may be surprised to learn about the wide variety of career paths available in the insurance industry. No matter what aptitudes or interests your students or clients may have, from business and marketing, fine arts, mechanics or human resources, they can find a rewarding career in insurance.
The Insurance Institute’s Career Connections program, on behalf of the insurance industry, has developed career resources to help people find their place in this exciting industry. These resources are available to students, counsellors, career practitioners, career seekers and educators.
Personal Perspective on Insurance Careers
Through the Insurance Institute’s Career Connections program, industry professionals act as ‘Ambassadors’ for the home, business and auto insurance industry. These volunteer Ambassadors share their career and education journey through presentations in the classroom and participation in career fairs. Ambassadors can introduce your students or clients to the multitude of careers available in this little-known sector, and share their enthusiasm for a $30 billion industry which continues to grow and change.
‘Putting a face’ to an industry that is little known and rarely understood is a good way to share our passion and enthusiasm for the industry, offer career advice and insurance education.
Insurance is already a part of everything you, your students and/or your clients do. Let our Industry Ambassadors help them find their place in it.
