Insurance Take Our Kids to Work Day

Each November, grade nine students across Canada take part in Take Our Kids to Work Day, an annual initiative of The Students Commission of Canada. To complement this national event, the Insurance Institute hosts Insurance Take Our Kids to Work Day (formerly Feed the Minds of Youth) — an initiative that for more than a decade has helped thousands of students explore how insurance careers shape our communities.

Why this matters

This program is more than a workplace visit. It gives students the chance to:

See insurance in action — protecting people, communities, and businesses every day
Explore career paths — from underwriting and risk management to technology, cybersecurity, and emerging risks
Discover their future — connect interests with real career paths

Virtual option

Live sessions will run throughout the afternoon, making it easier to join from different time zones. On-demand content will also be offered, giving students the flexibility to select sessions that interest them most, with input from their parents, guardians, schools, or organizations.
