Happy New Year! Fall Wrap Up and Winter Campaign

The new year is here and we are excited to get back out on campuses across the country talking to students and career seekers about careers in the insurance industry!

Our fall campaign was a huge success - this past September the Career Connections team of ambassadors and staff headed back to school, spreading the word about the many great careers in insurance. We attended over 40 events on post-secondary campuses reaching nearly 50,000 students and career seekers from Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland, to the University of Victoria, in British Columbia.

We presented career talks in over 120 high school classrooms across the country and reached almost 1500 grade 9 students through our Feed the Minds of Youth initiative held on November 2nd. On Sept 23–26, we attended the Ontario Universities Fair -- the largest event on this year’s roster – where high school students explore their post-secondary school options. With the help of about 20 ambassadors over the three-day event that draws a crowd of over 70,000 attendees each year, we were able to introduce students to the possibilities of a career in insurance.

In addition to general career fairs and high school classroom presentations, Career Connections also hosted insurance-specific events for post-secondary and career-changer audiences, and for the students in the full-time insurance programs across the country. This fall’s highlights included events at the University of Calgary, BCIT, Wilfrid Laurier University, Ryerson University, Bow Valley College and Fanshawe College.

And now it’s time to start again for our winter campaign! Check out our Events page  to see if we’re coming to a campus near you in the coming months!
